Terrie Talks Tea featured nine guests on its show; the most guests it has ever featured! The show was a true reflection of the importance of community and the magic that happens when our leaders come together. Community leaders including Dr. Adrian Holloway and Aldermen Sherman Jenkins of the City of Aurora, Joyce Dawkins of She ROCKS It!, Nisha Floyd of WoodForest Bank, Karina Garcia of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Carla Dennis of ComEd, Aisha McBurrows of the Women’s Business Development Center, Natalie Bonner of Talented Tenths Social Services and Michelle Myer of Mutual Ground.

Each guest had something different to offer to our live Facebook audience as we shared resources and details about food accessibility, utility bills and rental assistance, employment, community programs, and more. Audience members learned about a range of resources in their communities and some national resources. 

During the pandemic, the Strategic Exceptions team is working hard to bring our clients and supporters to the forefront with their services. One very important aspect of this episode was serving residents in need to help them thrive in their homes and their families. This pandemic has taught our community leaders that it is important to pour into their residents. Now, more than ever, community leaders lead the charge to keep residents with proper shelter, food, and resources to keep them safe and employed as a way to thrive during COVID-19.
