For the 4th quarter, we focused on spreading holiday cheer by making the holiday season a little easier for some of our clients. This helped to prevent them from repeating behaviors for survival.
For Thanksgiving, we gifted a $150 gift card to a family who did not have the means to celebrate as a family. They were able to feed their family during the holidays.
On December 13th, we attended the Aurora Regional Chamber Holiday event. It was a great opportunity to meet other local organizations that we were not familiar with and create opportunities for partnerships and collaboration.
For Christmas, we chose an Aurora family that was less fortunate and needed a little help for the holiday. Shauna is an ex-felon and recovering addict, who is 5 years clean of opiates. She is also a single mother of a 2-year-old little girl named Neveah. After paying her bills for the month, she could not provide her daughter with a Christmas gift. She reached out to the Salvation Army in the area, but they had no other items to give. So LSF stepped in and made sure Naveah enjoyed her Christmas.
